I noticed him some time ago in those old Dean Martin Roaster shows that i discovered thanks to the internet. Then, today, i found a DVD called Jackie Mason Comedy Trilogy. The first part is a film biography which is a bit sad for all the years that his talent was not so well apreciated. The second, Jackie Mason in Israel was, as he himself would say, "too jewish" but good, nevertheless. The third, Jackie Mason on Campus, in Oxford, kept me laughing and thinking and laughing again. After the three hours i knew i have to check on YouTube and i find him. Of course. He is frank and only pretends to be respectful. I like him because he tells it how it is in his mind and even if he might be wrong he makes you consider the ideas while you are laughing. He is no vulgar but that doesn't mean that people won't feel offended. I don't care, because in an ideal world we should be able to speak our mind without fear of nothing, because we as he should be that brave and opinionated.
Checking his little filmography i see he has a bit part in that great comedy, The Jerk (Carl Reiner, 1979) with Steve Martin.
I think this next video is a good introduction to him, in case you don't know him, or just a few minutes of humor without useless courtesy for nothing "You understand what i'm saying?"
Fellow guelylanders: Jackie Mason!
