ABOUT GUELYLAND
"One of the smallest , independent kingdoms in the ciberuniverse. Nothing fancy. Population? Just me, myself and my jaguars, my movies and my books (and, at this very moment, YOU). Hided and secret like Skull Island or Opar, the ancients in Guelyland use to read the scrools of a minor god called Voor-Hes.
Most of the treasures of Guelyland are made of paper, plastic and vinyl.Guelyland dreams with expanding in deep more then in surface. The music of Nik Kershaw has been heard here. There are apes, lots of apes in Guelyland. Woody Allen and Bob Hope visit it quite often. Here we love books (the Kingdoms Library is both celebrated and secret) Here we are atheists but very tolerant and think of god a bit too often and much. Guelyland is, the stuff my dreams are made of..."

"LA CIUDAD Y LOS PERROS" , lobbycards de Hungría.
En un muy interesante blog húngaro de lobbycards (https://vitrinfotok.blogspot.com/2018/12/a-varos-es-kutyak-la-ciudad-y-los.html ) encuentro una serie seis fotos de cine, distintas a las españolas que tengo en mi colección (y que puedo mostrar en una próxima entrada) de mi película peruana favorita "La ciudad y los perros" (Francisco Lombardi , 1985) que aquí reproduzco:

GOOD ADVICE...
“The demon is a liar. He will lie to confuse us. But he will also mix lies with the truth to attack us. The attack is psychological, Damien, and powerful. So don't listen to him. Remember that - do not listen.”
The Exorcist (Willian Friedkin, 1973)

TRIBUTE TO BETTE DAVIS...AND HER EYES
Almost since I can recall memories I have her name in my mind. For many the best actress of Hollywood, period. For me with at least two unforgetable films: All About Eve (Joseph L. Mankiewicz, 1950) and What Ever Happened to Baby Jane (Robert Aldrich, 1962).
The First Lady of Film, "The Fifth Warner Brother". 1.60 cm. of pure tornado. Here, Guelyland made this video in tribute to the talent and fury of Ruth Elizabeth Davis... and her eyes.

GUELYLANDSONG # 15: Lydia the Tattooed Lady
In 1939, when tattooed girls were not everywhere, Harold Arling and Yip Harburg wrote this funny song. The version that you are about to check is a mix I did from four very different movie renditions of this happy tune. They are: Robin Willians (The Fisher King,1991) Groucho Marx (from the 1939 At the Circus), Kermit the Frog (The Muppets Show, 1976)and little Virginia Weidler (The Philadelfia Story, 1940).
"Lydia, the Tattooed Lady" (Music by Harold Arlen and Lyrics by E.Y. Harburg)
Oh Lydia, oh Lydia, say, have you met Lydia?
Lydia The Tattooed Lady.
She has eyes that folks adore so,
and a torso even more so.
Lydia, oh Lydia, that encyclo-pidia.
Oh Lydia The Queen of Tattoo.
On her back is The Battle of Waterloo.
Beside it, The Wreck of the Hesperus too.
And proudly above waves the red, white, and blue.
You can learn a lot from Lydia!
La-la-la...la-la-la. La-la-la...la-la-la.
When her robe is unfurled she will show you the world,
if you step up and tell her where.
For a dime you can see Kankakee or Paree,
or Washington crossing The Delaware.
La-la-la...la-la-la. La-la-la...la-la-la.
Oh Lydia, oh Lydia, say, have you met Lydia?
Lydia The Tattooed Lady.
When her muscles start relaxin', up the hill comes Andrew Jackson.
Lydia, oh Lydia, that encyclo-pidia. Oh Lydia The Queen of them all.
For two bits she will do a mazurka in jazz,
with a view of Niagara that nobody has.
And on a clear day you can see Alcatraz.
You can learn a lot from Lydia!
La-la-la...la-la-la. La-la-la...la-la-la.
Come along and see Buffalo Bill with his lasso.
Just a little classic by Mendel Picasso.
Here is Captain Spaulding exploring the Amazon.
Here's Godiva, but with her pajamas on.
La-la-la...la-la-la. La-la-la...la-la-la.
Here is Grover Whelan unveilin' The Trilon.
Over on the west coast we have Treasure Isle-on.
Here's Nijinsky a-doin' the rhumba.
Here's her social security numba.
La-la-la...la-la-la. La-la-la...la-la-la.
Lydia, oh Lydia, that encyclo-pidia.
Oh Lydia The Champ of them all.
She once swept an Admiral clear off his feet.
The ships on her hips made his heart skip a beat.
And now the old boy's in command of the fleet, for he went and married Lydia!
I said Lydia... (He said Lydia...)
They said Lydia... We said Lydia, la, la!

TIME TALKING ABOUT ITSELF
From the german movie Faraway, So Close! (Win Wenders,1993)
In this scene Otto Tander as the former angel Cassiel and Willen Dafoe as Emit Flesti (Time Itself ?). So, they are in a hurry and on the road:
Emit:
- Can you hear me?
Cassiel:
- Ja!
Emit:
- Let me explain a couple of things.
Time is short. That's the first thing.
For the weasel, time is a weasel.
For the hero, time is heroic.
For the whore, time is just another trick.
If you're gentle, your time is gentle.
If you're in a hurry, time flies.
Time is a servant if you are its master.
Time is your god if you are its dog.
We are the creators of time...
the victims of time and the killers of time.
Time is timeless.
That's the second thing.
You are the clock, Cassiel.

COOL BUDDIES
Bruce & Chuck
Friendship can last forever or for a while. Doesn't have to be eternal or deep, it may go and come back. Is about sharing a smile,a diner, an event, a drink, a good day or night, or just the happy moment that last a snapshoot. Buddies that pose together want that moment to print that magic instant of happiness or they are just catched together by someone else that do the job for the posterity.
Then, years come and go, we grow old, fight or die but the magic moment is here to say that this once was a happy moment. Like a great man that leaves too young too soon a good shared moment can be good while it last (I guess some of these pics are true in that way).
