The problem with The Woodster DVD's (at least with the more then forty five films directed by him that I own in my favorite format) is the lack of extra features: no commentaries, no deleted scenes, no nothing, but nothing less then the masterpieces. Somehow this is gonna be compensated by the arrival of this long feature documentary (192 minutes!) about our favorite neurotic from New York since "Take the Money and Run" to "Midnight in Paris".
"Woody Allen: A documentary" (Robert Weide, 2011) will be released on february 14th and will have the participation of (take a deep breath) Antonio Banderas, Josh Brolin, Penélope Cruz, John Cusack, Larry David, Mariel Hemingway, Scarlett Johansson, Julie Kavner, Diane Keaton, Martin Landau, former wife and star Louise Lasser, Sean Pean, Tony Roberts, Chris Rock, Mira Sorvino, Naomi Watts, Diane West and Owen Wilson; co-writters Marshall Brickman, Mickey Rose and Doug McGrath; loyal master cinematographers Gordon Willis and Vilmos Zsigmond; his own sister Letty Aronson; his manager Jack Rollins; his casting director Juliet Taylor; his good old friends: the great Dick Cavett, Martin Scorsese and more!
