ABOUT GUELYLAND

"One of the smallest , independent kingdoms in the ciberuniverse. Nothing fancy. Population? Just me, myself and my jaguars, my movies and my books (and, at this very moment, YOU). Hided and secret like Skull Island or Opar, the ancients in Guelyland use to read the scrools of a minor god called Voor-Hes.
Most of the treasures of Guelyland are made of paper, plastic and vinyl.Guelyland dreams with expanding in deep more then in surface. The music of Nik Kershaw has been heard here. There are apes, lots of apes in Guelyland. Woody Allen and Bob Hope visit it quite often. Here we love books (the Kingdoms Library is both celebrated and secret) Here we are atheists but very tolerant and think of god a bit too often and much. Guelyland is, the stuff my dreams are made of..."

WOODY ALLEN: A DOCUMENTARY (2011)

The problem with The Woodster DVD's (at  least with the more then forty five films directed by him that I own in my favorite format) is the lack of extra features: no commentaries, no deleted scenes, no nothing, but  nothing less then the masterpieces. Somehow this is gonna be compensated by the arrival of this long feature documentary (192 minutes!) about our favorite neurotic from New York since "Take the Money and Run" to "Midnight in Paris".

"Woody Allen: A documentary" (Robert Weide, 2011) will be released on february 14th and will have the participation of (take a deep breath) Antonio Banderas, Josh Brolin, Penélope Cruz, John Cusack, Larry David, Mariel Hemingway, Scarlett Johansson, Julie Kavner, Diane Keaton, Martin Landau, former wife and star Louise Lasser, Sean Pean, Tony Roberts, Chris Rock, Mira Sorvino, Naomi Watts, Diane West and Owen Wilson; co-writters Marshall Brickman, Mickey Rose and Doug McGrath; loyal master cinematographers Gordon Willis and Vilmos Zsigmond; his  own sister Letty Aronson; his manager Jack Rollins; his casting director Juliet Taylor; his good old friends: the great Dick Cavett, Martin Scorsese and more!

Here, a radio interview to Robert Weide, the director of the docu:

And here a preview of coming atractions:

These are the extras of the DVD:

  • Closed Captions
  • 12 Questions with Woody Allen
  • Exclusive Deleted Scenes and Interviews
  • Interview with Director Robert B. Weide

And here is one of them!

When you tell us something about Allen, I just remember all the time my flyer a took from a wall in Manhattan, a piece of "office" paper, a flyer which say something like: "tonigth this street (54 and 9 av) will be closed due a movie film". And always I forget the name of the produccion company of Allen, even the name is in spanish, hahaha...
